I have written poetry since I was a young girl and in that time I have written and lost many pages. In the last couple of years I have catalogued my work in handwriting and digitally. For me, art is a snapshot of a fixed moment that is open to interpretation but poetry is far more complex, transient and speaks a thousand truths. For this reason I am very protective of the words I put to paper, as I’m sure most writers are.

My Father was something of a poet and loved to use small pocket sized books to write things down; in a way I feel connected to him when I write. If he were alive today I would absolutely love to share my work with him and, although many of my poems are dedicated to other people, I wholeheartedly dedicate every single word to him, in honour of his memory and his enjoyment of literature.
